Animals on Pasture
better for them, better for you
Farm animals are not industrial products, and neither is your food. At Grassmere Farm we raise our animals in the most natural way possible, out on pasture where the cows can graze and the pigs can root. These animals are happiest and healthiest when they can express these natural instincts, which makes for the highest quality beef and pork for your table.

Our Product
We raise, process, and deliver USDA inspected beef and pork. Your meat comes from heritage breed animals raised on pasture. This takes longer than animals fed in confinement, but our animals have been specifically selected for their performance on pasture, producing a well marbled carcass without the need for added grain.
Check the ‘About Us’ page for more information on our heritage breed cows and pigs.

What You Will Need
Freezer space. Your meat is delivered frozen and you will need enough freezer space until you’re ready to consume it. For individual cuts and sampler boxes the freezer you have should suffice, but for larger orders or animal shares we recommend you have a separate chest or upright freezer large enough to suit your needs. Below is a sizing guide for the amount of freezer space you’ll need for our larger products.
Half Pig: Small Freezer (5-9 cubic feet)
Half Cow/Whole Pig: Medium Freezer (10-16 cubic feet)
Whole Cow: Large Freezer (17+ cubic feet)
Please reach out if you are interested in either a whole or half animal.
